Timea Potys began her training in Hungary. A gymnast as a child, she studied dance and quickly fell in love with the art form. She studied Jazz, Ballet, Modern and Funk and venturing into the genre of Ballroom, found her true calling – Latin Dance. Coached by top European dancers including world champions Torokgyorgy Melinda and Mauricio Vescovo, she competed in Salsa, winning 1st place in Hungary. Recently relocating to the Bay Area from Europe, she currently trains competitors for the UC Berkeley Ballroom Team. She is still competing all around the world at the international level and brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her teaching. Her energy, grace and style are inspiring to all who experience her class.
